A selection of pics from our Dick Whittington panto press launch. Cast were fantastic during a rather cold and windy photo shoot. In related news, I watched Bruce (Les) in Celebrity Come Dine With Me last night…he finished last. I guarantee his performance as King Rat will be much better than his cooking….

This is the 'Explosive' dance we've been talking about…

You may have seen our marketing literature around the city recently shouting (in bright pink and blues) about our ‘explosive’ dance. Well, here’s the kind of stuff we’re talking about…

H2Dance, the acclaimed Norwegian/Swedish dance company, are presenting their amazing ‘To Die For’ production. It’s part of the NICE festival, celebrating Nordic arts and culture, and will take place on 28th November at our venue.

Check the YouTube clip here for an idea of what to expect from this darkly humorous, rather inventive dance production…some surprises later on in the clip!

No Fakin go all Daft Punk

No Fakin go all Daft Punk

Our Relaunch was incredible on Thursday. Hundreds of people, shed-loads of quality music, dance, art, food and drink…and a cracking atmosphere to boot.

We ‘relaunched’, not because we aren’t proud of what we’ve done in our first twelve months or so but because these are truly exciting times for the venue and it’s only right we should highlight how things are changing. This was more than just another event. We have our extensive rebrand for example (courtesy of the incredible Burn Everything – check the link), our rather beautiful new website, a brand new programme of events…and perhaps most importantly a new creative vision for the venue, ensuring the most progressive, diverse and eclectic cultural programme in Liverpool…

Let’s push tings forward….

THE NEW WEBSITE ARRIVES >>>>>>

CUCWEBSITE

After many a late night and early morning the new website is here. The bags under my eyes are hopefully not the only thing to come out of this momentous moment…

The site is the Contemporary Urban Centre’s first ‘real’ website. We used to have a few pages on the Novas Scarman Group’s (the charity we’re a part of) site but now we can really showcase what our venue is all about.

Must go, off for a kip (I’m not, I’m off to update the site some more…). More about the site soon.
